Welcome to my website. I document the finest luxury Sussex offers in travel, style, and food. Enjoy!

Midhurst is fast becoming a jewel in the Sussex crown, with The Times Newspaper voting it one of the best places to live in the UK. After wandering around the historic market town, it is easy to see why. Everything that you could possibly need to sustain a great lifestyle is right on your doorstep. Everywhere you go there are fabulous boutiques that look warm and inviting, whilst quaint coffee shops, pubs and restaurants fill the High Street, with the gin bar at The Spread Eagle proving a real hit.

Artisan food and drink take centre stage in Midhurst, with Cowdray farm shop being a hub for high-end fresh local produce, or for the sports obsessive there is Cowdray Park Golf Club and Cowdray Park Polo Club. There seems to be a real buzz about the town, which boasts many annual events such as their MADhurst Festival and a vibrant community spirit.

For those who love peace and quiet, Midhurst is nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park, which offers the perfect base for country walks or long bikes rides. It has stunning buildings in a myriad of styles which sit beautifully together, such as Medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian.

These days Midhurst is famed for its Cowdray Park Polo Club, which is a hit with world class players and celebrities.  However, Midhurst is familiar with famous visitors, as it once played host to King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.

Here at The Sussex Splendour we have compiled a list of some of the best places to visit on your next trip to Midhurst.

West Street Loft

Time travel, First Class.

What do you look for in a place to stay on your country getaway?

Comfort, obviously. Charm? Style? Convenience? Perhaps fine linen and Hungarian goose down are your cup of tea – on a Super King-size Loaf bed. Or a fully-equipped kitchen with top-of-the-range appliances, so you can cook up a little something in the evening (and the latest entertainment tech, so you can chill with Netflix or Spotify while you eat)?

West Street Loft offers all these things, but it's history that makes staying here such a memorable experience. Five hundred years of it. With its ancient exposed timbers and wonky walls, the Loft offers a unique combination of 16th Century heritage and 21st Century comfort, presented with style and luxury in the centre of Midhurst's old town.

It's perfectly located for Cowdray Park polo, Goodwood, West Dean and the South Downs National Park. But you might well find that the Loft itself is all the reason you need to spend a night or two in our beautiful corner of England.

Luxury Shopping

Life. Style. Stuff.

As any serious shopper will tell you, there are shops and there are shops… and then there are shops

Stuff and Co, in Midhurst's increasingly fashionable West Street precinct, falls squarely in the third category.

Yes, you can browse and buy beautiful one-off homewares and furniture, hand-made jewellery, fashion and designer and vintage… stuff. You can get your hands on fresh, fragrant soaps, made right there in the shop by The Soap Factory, and find fine leather-bound notebooks, naturally scented candles and cards from the sublime to the ridiculous.

But Stuff and Co is more than just a shop – it's an experience: a calm and considered space, designed to indulge all the senses. If you're fond of the finer things in life, you might not want to leave. Fortunately, you won't necessarily have to. The stunning loft apartment on the upper two floors is available for holiday lets.
