HOVE RESTAURANT IS KNOCKING THEM FOR SIX
Never have I been so excited to sample a new restaurant than the night I frequented SIX restaurant in Hove's Western Road. Our social circle has been awash with excitement and I have been inundated with tales about the delectable dishes and the phenomenal service. Needless to say this place did not disappoint.
From the moment we entered the door the staff were attentive and fully switched on, nothing was too much trouble. We were ushered to our seats where our friends were patiently waiting with espresso martinis in hand. Walking through the restaurant you cant help but notice the fresh modern interior its beautifully decorated throughout. There are stylish well placed plants hanging down in parts of the restaurant, reminiscent of New York's fashionable eatery's.
The vibe was perfect and as if you needed any more clarification that this is the new hippest place in Hove, they even have a yoga studio upstairs (I love that. Down your espresso martini, sample your lobster parpardelle then slope upstairs to cat/cow). Hooray for the millennial's!
After popping open the customary bottle of fizz we sat down to a rich culinary feast. First course of 'Calamari e Zucchini' was decorated to perfection, a true feast for the eyes not just the palate.
My main of choice was 'Parpardelle Affumicate' a mix of pasta, cray fish, lobster tails and smoked salmon. It was gloriously hued and the scent was amazing, a truly inspirational dish. My partner could not resist the 'Moroccan chicken'. He assures me that the warming flavours and texture of this dish were simply delicious and so so satisfying.
At this point we were all ready for a sumptuous pudding in the shape of Pistachio Creme Brulee, which was beautifully crafted and so flavoursome. The meal can be summed up as absolutely delectable. The food and the service were impeccable a truly special place to dine. For me the icing on the cake is that all the food is organic and locally sourced, I think that shines through as the quality is phenomenal.
We then had token cocktails before we ventured off into the hustle and bustle of Hove. I might add that the cocktails were second to none and I am rather a conosiour of Ameretto Sours.
SIX is a true culinary delight and is making dining out enjoyable again.
